AHOY takes on the Big Half!
On Sunday 1st March, the sun was shining and spirits were high as we were on the side lines of the Vitality Big Half waving banners and shouting support to runners. Fourteen of those remarkable runners were participating in support of The AHOY Centre on a route that took them through London starting at Tower Bridge and finishing at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to Alec, Lynette, Rachel W, Rachel M, Dave, Harriet, Marta, Eildh, Harriet, Jack, Louise, Emma, Lesley and Mark for their hard work and commitment. By running 13.1 miles they have collectively raised over £5000 for AHOY and the donations are still coming in! We are greatly appreciative of their generous contribution which will support the charity in bringing people together from all walks of life.
Two of the fundraising department were lucky enough to watch the half marathon from on board the Cutty Sark and what a great way to see the run! They were in awe as they watched the yellow AHOY t-shirts fly by and saw the look of achievement (and maybe slight relief!) on everybody’s face as they passed the finishing line.
London’s community half marathon was a brilliant day for everybody involved and we’re proud to have been a part of it. If you’ve been inspired by our runners and are looking for a challenge this 2020 then please check out our rowing challenges or get in touch at 020 3930 9493.
