A Time To Celebrate
The moment everyone at AHOY looks forward to took place on Saturday 2nd December, The Annual Christmas Awards Dinner.
An evening put on to celebrate the charity’s progress over the last 12 months and most importantly to celebrate the successes and qualifications gained by our beneficiaries – and with a sell out evening seeing 140 attendees – it was all hands on deck from the staff to make sure it was a night to remember.
2017 has been another great year with numerous qualifications and skills being gained by our participants. Our Shipmates, Sailability and Apprentices, who have all made fantastic progress this year and were presented with their certificates throughout the evening and praised for their on going commitment to AHOY.
Like many charities, we depend heavily on our fantastic volunteers throughout the year, helping with our ever growing rowing challenge programme, fleet maintenance and administration duties. Special thanks and presentations were made to our volunteers, who continue to play such an important role in the success of AHOY.
The wonderful support of the Hilton Canary Wharf and the Hilton Doubletree in Rotherhithe has continued throughout 2017 and we were extremely grateful & delighted to have some of their staff join us for the evening, giving up their Saturdays to volunteer AND cook dinner for us – Thank you!
Our special thanks to the following:
• BARRETT’S BUTCHER, BELSIZE PARK
• HILTON HOTEL CANARY WHARF
We’re extremely grateful to ALL support we have recieved during 2017.
Now onto 2018 which will be another exciting and busy year with our main focus on increasing our work towards becoming an approved Alternative Provider. This will open up opportunities to work closely with both Royal Greenwich & Lewisham councils and devise new programmes to support those pupils who struggle to achieve within the current education system.
