The Generosity of London

The Fundraising team headed out today for one of their regular promotional days of our OARSOME challenges .

Today’s visit was to the Wallbrook building, Cannon Street, where the team had the opportunity to speak to staff and companies from the building about the work we do at The AHOY,  the challenges we offer and encourage them to join in what is already a successful year of fundraising.

Andy, one of our Fundraisers, who’s daughter Kimberly has benefited from the work the AHOY do and regularly attends our Sailability sessions, was speaking to one of the many staff members that had expressed interest in our presence in the foyer.

After an in depth discussion about our charity, common grounds were realised between their lifestyles and the shared empathy for the work & activities charities like us provide.

Although the challenge wasn’t suitable for this person, 10 minutes from when the discussion was had, Andy was presented with what can only be described as a very humbling donation of £40 to be put towards our Sailability activities.

This donor remains anonymous but on behalf of the AHOY team, Thank you – Generosity like your really means a lot to our staff and our beneficiaries.
