AHOY’s Home Heroes!
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events for many UK charities.
The Virgin Money London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.
AHOY are part of the #TwoPointSixChallenge, a national campaign to help UK charities get the funds they need during the Covid-19 pandemic, and we need you to join our team and become an AHOY Home Hero!
All you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and complete it on Sunday 26 April – when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place.
This could be something as simple as pledging to run or row 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, baking 26 muffins, to hosting a virtual quiz for 26 people, the possibilities are endless!
There are no rules – apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. The main thing is to get active, have fun, pledge whatever you can to help or fundraise for AHOY.
Get involved with 4 simple steps:
1) Dream up your activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26.
2) Sign up to AHOY’s #TwoPointSixChallenge campaign.
3) Invite all your friends and family to sponsor you.
4) Complete your challenge from the 26th April onwards.
